To the Editor:

The Merrimack Lions Club wants to thank the community for making the Scarecrow Kit Fundraiser for Diabetes so successful. Again, we sold over 150 kits with a profit of over $3,200, including individual donations.

A special thank you goes to Yvette Courser and her staff at the Merrimack Public Library for allowing us to use their facility to sell our scarecrow kits in September and October. Every Saturday, a staff member would bring out a table; in the cool weather, they allowed us to use one of the rooms inside and adding signs directing where to go.

Especially impressive was when the banner outside was "mysteriously" mounted on a frame to make the banner straight! Also, someone moved the banner for more visibility at the corner. Everyone helped whenever they could to promote our cause.

Thanks again to everyone who bought a scarecrow and then displayed in front of their home or business. Hope to see your scarecrow next year.
