Children delighted with calls from Santa

To the Editor:

On Tuesday-Wednesday, Dec. 15-16, Santa took a break from making his list and checking it twice to make some very important phone calls to 60 Merrimack children.

The children were delighted that Santa knew all about them, and they were able to share last-minute wishes and wish him a very Merry Christmas and safe travels around the world on Christmas Eve.

The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department would like to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to Capt. Albert and the Merrimack Police Department for volunteering their time and holiday spirit for the Santa Calling program. Parents are thrilled we offer this program, and each child is excited to receive a call from Santa himself right before Christmas!

Thank you to Capt. Albert for organizing the volunteers, as well as playing Santa, and thank you to Chief Doyle, Lt. Edmonds, Sgt. Dillon, Officer Walters and Officer Milligan for bringing Santa to Merrimack to delight each child they called!

We appreciate the continued support from the Merrimack Police Department at all of our events, from keeping our residents safe to bringing joy to children during the holidays!

The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department would like to wish you and yours a very happy holiday season and a safe and wonderful New Year.
