Family thanks Merrimack Lioness Club

To the Editor:

The following is a letter received by the Merrimack Lioness Club regarding Operation Santa.

Dear Lioness Club:

We had the best Christmas thanks to all of you. All my worries about the holiday and how we could handle the costs were taken away.

Our family works hard to do the best for all of us, and of course we would love to have new things for Christmas, but that just isn’t possible. Two of our family members have special needs and require medications and equipment, so Christmas wishes are most times not possible. This year Santa (also known as the Lioness Club) had another idea.

Your gifts were exactly what we needed. The slippers and PJs are perfect and keep us so cozy, and the leggings are terrific under jeans in a chilly house. My daughter loved the footie PJs! Vacation has been spent playing the great board games. We all love Life and Bananagrams. Family game night for us is Friday night, so I know we will be playing them all through the year. We all watch "Dr. Who," so the little figures were such fun. Besides the games, we’ve all been reading the books you gave us, and they are perfect choices that we will enjoy for a long time.

I don’t really know how to thank you for everything you did for my family this Christmas. Without you, the whole holiday would have been so different and I would not have seen all the surprise and happiness that I know we will remember all year long.

Thank you so much.
