Traffic pattern should have been changed

To the Editor:

Did the people or person in charge of the Merrimack polling place really think that the change in the traffic pattern would help?

I can’t believe that the decision wasn’t reversed once the town moderator or the police realized what a mess had been created.

To be watching CNN News and see Merrimack front and center, not because of long lines at the one polling place in town (there was never a line) or a lack of parking places (there were plenty of empty spots); no, it was because voters could not get to the polls to vote, or for that matter, anyplace else in town.

It would be interesting to know just how many voters could not get to cast their ballot. It is a disgrace that a town the size of Merrimack has only one polling place.
