Ayotte worked to get CARA passed

To the Editor:

The fight against the heroin epidemic got a major boost last week thanks to Senator Kelly Ayotte and her bill: the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA).

Kelly helped write and introduce CARA as a multifaceted solution to the substance abuse crisis and the problem facing many communities in New Hampshire. It includes several different parts, all of which will tackle the problem in different ways, thus making the most impact.

In addition, Kelly worked with people from opposing parties to get the CARA passed – and it got 92 votes from both sides of the aisle. Kelly is clearly not just in it for her party or for herself, she genuinely wants to deliver results and help those suffering from this terrible epidemic.

We need a senator who cares deeply about the well-being of her constituents, and Kelly Ayotte is that senator. She is sensible, independent and results-driven – that much is clear from her dedicated work on this bill.
