Thank you, Hillsborough County voters
To the editor,
I thank the Hillsborough County voters for voting to allow me to continue as your commissioner.
Hillsborough county continues to be the best managed county in New Hampshire. We have been able to provide services to our citizens at the lowest cost of any county. The net cost of services is less than $90 per resident per year. The highest county is almost four times greater.
Currently county government consists of two large departments, the nursing home and the house of correction; and three smaller departments, sheriff, county attorney and registry of deeds. The budget for the county is reduced by almost one-half through fees and grants.
