Thanks for return to school board

To the Editor:

I want to thank the voters who turned out on our rescheduled voting day. It was certainly reassuring to see the overwhelming support for the warrant articles on the school ballot.

To those who did vote to re-elect me to the School Board, I am grateful again for your support. To those who did not, I thank you for taking the time on Saturday to help decide the things that continue to impact our community. While our priorities may vary, I can assure you that your voices have been heard.

Congratulations to Jenni Siegrist on her election to the School Board. Her positive spirit resonated with many people, and the board will be well served by her energy and unique perspective. Rick Wood and Mike Hannon ran admirable campaigns, and I enjoyed getting to know them and their families as we paced back and forth in Saturday’s chill. I know they will both continue to contribute to the success of our School District.

I also want to thank my friend Paul Dargie for his many years of service to the Milford School District. His dedication and willingness to research the specifics of an issue set a high bar for the rest of us. It has been a privilege to work with him him over the past six years, and he leaves some big shoes to fill on this year’s board.

Participation from citizens is crucial and as always, I welcome input by e-mail or in person. As a board, we must be sure that we are communicating with the public, and we need consistent interaction to effectively serve our community. I look forward to continuing to work for all of you.
