Bedford’s Fargo to play in Shrine Bowl

CASTLETON, Vt. – The 63rd Annual Shrine Game will kick off on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on Castleton University’s Spartan Field.

Team New Hampshire will feature Bedford offensive lineman Willem Fargo.

As always, the game will be preceded by a spectacular Shrine Parade on Main St of Castleton starting at 3 p.m. The parade will feature Shrine Units from around the Northeast with an incredible display of miniature vehicles, motorcycle groups and bands that will turn onto South Street and passing by the football stadium. Plenty of parking is available on campus and along Main Street.

For the 11th year, the parade and halftime show will feature an all-star high school band of talented musicians from schools throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. This annual event is all for the benefit of Shrine Hospitals for Children. The net proceeds of the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl go to support the three regional hospitals for children inflicted with orthopedic conditions and burns.

The Shrine Centers are ecstatic that Castleton has, again, stepped up to support our game on their beautiful campus in Vermont. Castleton has hosted the training camp for the past three years and this year will be the second for hosting the game. This year is rumored to be a wide-open offensive contest and is a great opportunity for fans to see and great game and university campus.

The annual Maple Sugar Bowl gold tournament was held at Crown Point Country Club in Springfield, Vt., Monday, followed by Media Day on Tuesday.
