NH Tennis Academy offers new scholarship

If asked to locate the top tennis academies on a map, most people would quickly point to Florida, Texas, or California. For years, serious junior players have had to travel out of New England to find suitable tennis training centers. Which is why New Hampshire Tennis Academy founder and director, Nick Wagner, made the decision to leave a leading junior academy in New York City and finally bring elite training to New England.

The New Hampshire Tennis Academy is a high performance tennis training program located at the Hampshire Hills Athletic Club. Designed for the serious junior tennis player, this multifaceted intensive training experience is unlike any other in New England. NHTA develops not only top tennis players but also well-rounded young men and women by challenging them in a safe and friendly environment. NHTA’s roster of players includes numerous young tennis prodigies, including current New England Boys 12 No. 1 Azariah Rusher.

New England has long been a hotbed of undiscovered talent for junior tennis because it never had access to world-class, professional training. Featuring a low student-to-pro ratio, students receive instruction in all aspects of the modern tennis game including stroke technique, footwork, movement, and mental toughness. To insure complete player development, all students train daily in the acclaimed Hampshire Dome with the experienced fitness coaches of Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning before they begin tennis.

NHTA has designed a travel tournament program to help students reach the next level of match preparedness. This program provides everything a student could possibly need to succeed in the highly competitive tournament environment, from transportation to and from tournaments to pre-tournament preparation plans with stretching and diet planning, pre-match warmups, and strategy discussions before and after matches.

In order to help discover and develop the next great tennis player from New England, NHTA will be offering one scholarship for the 2017 training season. This scholarship is designed for a player who may not otherwise have access to elite training and will include weekly private lessons with Coach Nick, group training sessions, fitness training with MBSC, professional ATP hitting partners, transportation to and from tournaments including coaching, and mental strength training.

The scholarship will be open to all players from New England, age 12 and under, who are committed to playing on the pro tour.
