Bedford softball starts with 3 straight wins

Bedford 4, Dover 2

Bedford starts the season off strong with a 4-2 win over Dover. Pitcher Katie Martin threw 13 strikeouts to get her first victory. The team was led offensively by Maddie Lucontoni with a single and a run scored, Jacque Harrington hit a double and scored, Shanna Scribner got a single and RBI, Erin Murphy went 2 for 3 with two runs scored, while Audrey Pederson RBI.

The defensive play of the game, with two outs in the top of the fourth, runners on first and third, with the score 3-1, Anna Chagnon of Dover attempted to steal second, Kylie Dimond faked the throw to second and threw to third baseman Erin Murphy who tagged runner Grace Hallett to end the inning.

Abby Ekcer pitched well for Dover contributing five strikeouts.

Bedford 11, Keene 3

In Bedford, Katie Martin pitched seven strong innings striking out seven. Offensively, Madison Fraitzl hit a home run, Erica Barley hit a home run, double and single, while Jacque Harrington went 3 for 3 with a double and three runs scored. Caitlin Fletcher went 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBIs, Audrey Pederson went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and Erin Murphy hit a double and two RBIs. Bedford played solid defensively.

Bedford 13, Memorial 1

In Manchester, Bedford captures it third win of the season. Katie Martin had a great day on the mound striking out 11 Crusader batters only allowing one hit. Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by Jacquelyn Harrington, who had two doubles and a two-run home run. Erin Murphy contributed with a single and a three-run home run, Audrey Pederson had a double and drove in two runs, while Morgan Fraitzl contributed with a double an RBI.
