No-hitter brings Bulldog softball to 7-0

Bedford 4, Spaulding 2

In Rochester, Bedford’s Katie Martin pitched another solid game earning her fifh win for the season.

In the first inning, leadoff batter, Jacquelyn Harrington, started Bedford off with a double and eventually scoring off a hit from Erica Barley. The game remained at a 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth when Spaulding pulled ahead with two runs.

At the top of the sixth, Maddy Lucontoni hit an RBI single to tie the game and then Caitlin Fletcher had a timely two-run single to put Bedford in the lead for good.

Kylie Dimond left the game in the first inning due to a foul tip off the catcher’s mask. She did not return to the game and Cece DeBlasi stepped in and did a great job behind the plate.

Defensive play of the game – Maddy Lucontoni came in from deep center field and called off Audrey Pederson on a high looping ball hit behind second.

Manchester Central 0

In Manchester, Bedford left Central with a 10-0 win and remains undefeated. Katie Martin held a no-

hitter until the last inning with 15 strikeouts, one hit and no walks, earning her sixth win for the season. Cece DeBlasi was solid behind the plate, calling the pitches the entire game keeping Central off balance. Offensively, Erica Barley was 3 for 4, with two doubles, three RBI, two runs scored. Jacquelyn Harrington 3 for 4 with three runs scored.

Defensive play of the game – Katie Martin caught a face-high line drive off the bat of Abby Yerrington in the third.

Winnacunnet 0

In Hampton, Katie Martin pitched no-hitter, advancing Bedford’s winning streak. Bedford remained undefeated at 7-0.

Audrey Pederson had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run.

Erin Murphy contributed a single and a run scored.

Makaela Kinney went 2 for 3.
