Tamulevich lifts Cohen to victory

The action resumed after the holidays in the Bedford Rec youth hoop ranks. Here’s a look at the weekly results.

Boys Grades 3/4

Cohen Investments 24, Bedford Athletic Club 22

James Tamulevich led with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners, while Jack Tamulevich added a hoop and some strong defense. Max Boldeia chipped in six points for Cohen. Lucas Juric had 14 for BAC, while while Dominic Juric, Garret McComish, and Jonathan Guerette also chipped in with points.

Beauchemin R.E. 22, New Hampshire Eye 15

For NH Eye, it was a season-high of 15 points led by Zach Papik and Jayden Atchinson with great assists from Caden Santerre, Declan Slosberg, Jacob Parshay, Tyler Parshay, and Hunter Crowley.

O’Donnell Insurance 26, Surgento 23

Ryan O’Rourke tossed in 15 for the winners, and Beau Boughter had seven points. Jake Boughter and Liam Macken also contributed. Sam Surgento anchored a furious rally by his team and finished with 14 in the game.

BFOR 14, Mega X 13

Kyle Gouveia had eight for the winners, who added from from Luke O’Connell and a pair from Theo Chartier. Sam Doty was a workhorse with four rebounds. For Mega X, Isaac Baines, Stefanos Peters-Demetrio, and Gavin O’Dell led the way offensively.

Medical Eye Center 15, Bedford Dental Care 12

Drew Benjamin, John Colangelo, and Sammy Fazelat were top scorers. Anthony Galipeault, a new player to basketball, showed great skills on defense. Joe and Josh Leland anchored a furious comeback from BDC, which trailed 10-2 at the half.

Boys Grades 5/6

Cowette Plumbing 18, Homeseer Technologies 16

For Homeseer, Kevin Mastrodicasa had some keys drives, while a timely steal by Dominic Carey kept Homeseer in the game. Nathaniel Kaneland played shutdown defense. For Cowette, Julien Meijer and Tony Serino played strong games. Evan Capello led all scorers with six points.

Mavericks 34, Universal Windows Direct 14

Mavericks were led by Owen Richmond, who had a game-high 12 points, while both Rishi Ghanta & Cooper Cheifetz scored 8 points each. Joe Blaine ended the game with 6 points.

Orr & Reno 33, Bellemore 24

Tommy Frongillo hit a couple key shots while the defense expanded the margin toward the end.

Team Corey Hassan 36, Ware Group Keller Williams 33

Jaden Cote (12 points), Kevin Sheridan (10 points) and Leo Dixon (10 points) led the team on offense. Brody Woloski and Jake Harding also had hoops.

Bay Street Family Dental 31, Allstate Looney Agency 24

Nick Ferrari led all scorers with 13 points. Steele Lambert scored six points, all in the first half. Ryan Jung also contributed six and several assists. Jatin Balasubramani had some key rebounds in a great team effort on both ends of the court. For Allstate, the Bielecki boys continued their streak of double doubles, this time with Jakub scoring double digit points and rebounds. Nick DeJesus chipped in with his first three-pointer of the season, which brought the game to even late in the second half. Alex St. Hilaire started at point and played savage defense.

Boys Grades 7/8

Inside Scoop 38, Hannaford 35

High scorers for Hannaford were Adam Carroll, Colby Martineau and Alex Wafer. Nick Papa and Ty Howard played strong defense.

Image Contracting 38, Flooring Associates 31

Image Contracting was led in scoring by KC Mahoney. Sam Ravenelle led the team in rebounding. It was a great team effort.

Girls Grades 3/4

Puritan Backroom 20, Anthem BCBS 2

Juliet Laws led all scorers with eight points and Emma Albis, Mia Katane, Katherine O’Donnell, Anna Ray and Eva Zink also contributed baskets. Lily Alderton dropped in a bucket for Anthem, which was led on the hardwood by the tenacious efforts of Leah Burke and Emerson Gagne.

The Bagg Lunch 14, Wicked Good Butcha 12

Bagg Lunch was led by the scoring of Sarah Merhalski, Anna Tatakis and Mary Suozzo who had 4 points each. Defensively they were led by Maeve Kelly and Kloeigh O’Neil.

Bedford AC 8, Planet Fitness 6

The game was tied at 6-6 until the last minute. Sloan Correa, Elizabeth Archer and Elyse Olsen all contributed with baskets for Planet Fitness. Bedford AC welcomed two new players to the team, Mia Catane and Anna Ray.

O’Donnell Insurance 8, Bedford Home Consignment 4

Maddy Cole and Lydia Denon each scored a basket for Bedford Home Consignment, while Ava Krueger gave it her all on defense, forcing many jump balls and turnovers.

Girls Grades 5/6

Small Green Computer 17, Mega X 8

Small Green Computer improved to 3-1 on the season. Gianna Pezzetti dropped in 10 points, Peyton Sarsfield added three, while Nitya Gottamukkala knocked in two. Anica Ahdi and Aparna Thandapan paced SGC defensively, forcing turnovers and harassing Mega-X to the extreme. Led by Shruthi Sriram, Mega-x made a strong second half comeback but fell short in a great game. Sriram played scrappy defense and pulled down many rebounds for Mega X. Also, contributing offensively were Sarah Ray, Abby Durbin and Gabby Elchafoun.

NH Eye Associates 14, Dental Arts of Bedford 7

Kayla Gibson, Grace Krueger, Mia tynans and Elif Cakir led DAB on offense, and Leah LeBlanc Molly Duffy Aubrey Helton, Emma Ciruso and Maren Slosburgh stood out on defense.. For NH Eye Associates, Sophia Correnti and Mia Florio played real hard defense while Gianna Shaheen led offensively.

Namtek 18, Dovetail 11

For Namtek, Layla Chieftez played a tough defensive game bringing down multiple rebounds and forcing many turnovers. For Dovetail, scoring was led by Lia Spector and Maggie Fox. Jenny Merck led the team in rebounds and assists.
