Wrestling pair advances to MOC

LONDONDERRY – Bedford High sent eight wrestlers to the Division I State Meet Saturday and a pair advanced to this week’s state Meet of Champions.

Both senior William Theodore and junior Jack Carrozzi grabbed fifth-place finishes for the Bulldogs, who finished in 14th place as a team.

After reaching the semis, Carrozzi suffered a tough 6-4 loss in the consolations, meaning to advance he needed to win his last match of the day. He did it in style with a second-period pin over Concord’s Evan Berube, whom he had decisioned in the quarters.

Theodore was wrestling under fire all day after dropping his first match. He pinned Londonderry’s Dylan Barnes to advance.

The Meet of Champions is Saturday at Nashua South High School. Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m.
