State coaches heap top honor on Stevenson

As far as honors in New Hampshire basketball circles go, there is none more distinguished than the Jack Ford Memorial Scholar Athlete Award.

The honor is well-deserved in 2019 as it was recently announced that Bedford High’s Lizzy Stevenson earned it for Division I.

The award goes to the top student-athlete in the state as with basketball, academics and citizenship ranked with equal weight.

Stevenson will accept the award on Sunday in the Senior All-Star Game which will be held at NHTI in Concord.

She will pick up the honor at halftime of the Division I vs. Division II game which is set for noon.

Stevenson wasn’t the only Bulldog to earn postseason notoriety from the state’s coaches.

Junior point guard Alli Morgan earned first-team All-Division I status for her monster campaign with the 16-4 Bulldogs.

Senior Kendi Barnard was an honorable mention All-Division I choice.
