BOYS LACROSSE

Portsmouth 12, Hollis Brookline 11

Will Crosby, Derek Davidson, and Nick Hinchliffe all had two goals and one assist but it wasn’t enough as the Cavaliers dropped to 3-2 on Monday. Other contributors for HB included Garrett Klausner (one goal, one assist), Cam Tulley (two goals), Mike Buxbaum and Ryan Olson (single goal each). Jack Byrne and Jack Aldana-Proulx each had assists. Cavs goalie Garrett Maloney eight saves.

Hollis Brookline 15, Oyster River 4

Will Crosby had six goals and three assists while Ryan Olson added three goals and four assists on Wednesday, April 20. Other scorers for the Cavs included Nick Hinchiffe (three goals two assists); Garrett Klausner (one goal, one assist) and Pete Bertone and Mike Buxbaum (a goal each). Garrett Moloney had four saves in the HB net.

Baseball

Windham 13, Hollis Brookline 3

Kaito Kranarcyzk allowed three earned runs over four innings, but the Jaguars (5-1) pulled away for a six-inning win over the Cavs on Friday, April 22.

Nate Corsetti pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief, while Tyler McDormand, Joe Brown and Mitch Dreyer collected hits for Hollis Brookline.

Owen Batchelder fired a mercy rule-shortened two-hitter, fanning seven while walking six and picking off two runners on Wednesday, April 20. Offensively, Tucker Aiello (two hits, three RBIs, reached base four times) Noah Hodges (three hits) and Thomas Bennett (two hits, two RBIs) led the Sabers.

For the Cavs, Jack MacCloud and Nick White had a single each.

Windham 10, Hollis Brookline 0

The Cavaliers (2-3) were no-hit by Rachel Rogers and the undefeated Jaguars on Friday.

Olivia Lukovits and Skylar Mack reached base for Hollis Brookline.

Souhegan 6, Hollis Brookline 5

Hailey Yabroudy drove in the game winner for the Sabers in the bottom of the ninth with a single down the line, scoring Lucy Stover on Wednesday, April 20. Yabroudy also pitched seven innings of relief, striking out 11. Alli Canavan paced the 12 hit Souhegan attack, going 4 for 4 with a double and a two-run homer that tied the game 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth, while Hannah Cochran went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

For the Cavaliers, Cassidy Piggott pitched all nine innings, striking out five while going 2 for 5 at the plate. Avery Webb and Natalie Paquin each had an RBI.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Hollis Brookline 3, Souhegan 2

Nick Wood racked up 13 kills, six aces and 25 digs to help the Cavaliers earn an 18-25, 25-19, 25-23, 19-25, 15-10 victory over the Sabers (2-2) on Friday, April 22.

Adam Zingales recorded 47 assists, Jacob McGettigan tallied 10 kills and Tucker McIlwrath had three blocks for Hollis Brookline, which visits Coe-Brown on Monday, May 2.

Souhegan was led by Alex Craven, who had 22 serves, two blocks, seven digs and 14 kills.

Raj Gandhi added 11 serves, five blocks, seven kills, while Ibadd Nazeer (17 digs) and Josh Massa (21 serves, 13 digs, two kills) paced the defense.

Josh Anson chipped in with 14 serves, 10 kills, eight digs and two blocks for the Sabers, who travel to Keene on May 2.

Hollis Brookline 3, Salem 0

The Cavaliers cruised in straight set wins of 25-23, 26-24, and 25-19 on Wednesday, April 20. They were led by Nate Thomas’ 18 digs and 26 assists from Scott VanCoughnett. Tucker McIlwrath added seven kills, five blocks and two aces.

GIRLS TENNIS

Hollis Brookline 9, Milford 0

Hollis Brookline swept singles and doubles for a 9-0 win over Milford on Thursday, April 21.

Courtney Koran, Nicole Hall, Maddy McCann, Teresa Randlett, Monika Schneider and Sophia Bruzik all won 8-0 in singles.

Koran and Hall pulled out an 8-4 win over Milford’s Katie and Sabrina at first doubles, before the duos of Randlett-McCann and Julia Stam-Emily Spooner closed things out with 8-0 wins.

Portsmouth 8, Hollis Brookline 1

The Cavaliers suffered a tough but loss, with just Nicole Hall at No. 2 singles pulling out an 8-6 win on Wednesday, April 20. In another close match, Teresa Randlett lost to Portsmouth’s Hanna Street 9-8 (9-7 tiebreaker) in a match that lasted 2 1/2 hours at No. 4 singles.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Hollis Brookline 14, Nashua South 11

Tied 6-6 at halftime, Hollis Brookline pulled ahead in the second half and held on for a 14-11 win over Nashua South at Stellos Stadium.

Katherine Tenney had 12 saves in net for South (0-3), while Allison Magrane (three goals), Jocelyn Chaput (two goals, two assists), Alyssa Freeman (two goals, one assist), Ashley Eppolitto (two goals, one assist), Kara Slocum (one goal) and Liz Harrington (one goal) supplied the offense in defeat.
