Cavalier matmen 4th at Milford

MILFORD — After opening up with a pair of tidy dual-meet victories last week, Hollis Brookline High School’s wrestlers delivered a solid fourth-place effort in the rugged, 12-team Milford-Souhegan Invitational Meet on Saturday.

Hollis Brookline didn’t have an individual champion but it did enjoy several top performances.

Scott Anneser, who was 2-0 in the opening duals, made a run to the title match, hanging tough for a while before to reigning Division II state champ Julien Hovan of Merrimack, 13-2, in the finals. It was a superb runner-up performance.

Cam Lapierre,at 152, wrestled like he wasn’t happy to be in the consolation rounds. He took third with a 29-second pin in the consolation finals. Zach Brickner battled hard for his third-place medal at 170, surviving with a gritty 2-0 decision. Cameron Dreyer was fourth at 120 pounds, while Dan Delong took fourth at 132 and Teddy Moscatelli was fourth at 138. Tyler St. Pierre reached the semis at 160, before settling for fourth.
