Mr. Basketball

Merrimack High School junior guard Eric Gendron was voted Mr. New Hampshire Basketball and was also named Gatorade’s New Hampshire Player of the Year.

Gendron helped lead the Tomahawks to a 13-6 record and was the top scorer in Division I this season, averaging 19.7 points per game.

Bishop Guertin senior Meghan Green was named Miss New Hampshire Basketball by the New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Association and also was named Player of the Year in Division I. She was joined on the Division I first team by teammate Jamie Sherburne, Alvirne’s Sandi Purcell and Nashua North’s Taylor Choate. Merrimack’s Kate Cole and Kaitlyn Petrocelli were named honorable mention.

Gendron was named a first team guard for the Division I boys and his coach, Tim Goodridge, was named Division I Coach of the Year. The Player of the Year in Division I was Troy Pelletier of Manchester Central, who joins Gendron on the first team, along with Bishop Guertin senior Jeff Lunn.

Dominic Paradis, a senior forward from Spaulding of Rochester, won the Jack Ford Scholar Athlete Award. The girls Ford award went to Lebanon guard Moriah Morton, who was also the Division II Player of the Year.

Junior guard Pat Welch of Division II champion Pembroke Academy was named the Division II player of the year. Two local player, Souhegan guard Brandon Len and Hollis Brookline guard P.J. Flaum joined him on the Division II first team.

Two local girls, Dina Pitsas of Milford and Ellie Flaum of Hollis Brookline, joined Morton on the Division II first team.

Campbell senior guard Max Gouveia was named the Division III first team. Campbell’s Hannah Nield was second team in Division III and Samantha Bosquet of Wilton-Lyndeborough was honorable mention in Division IV.
