Alfred R. Latour

Alfred R. Latour, son of Alfred and Louise Latour, passed away at the age of seventy-eight years old, on November 16, 2015, three days before his forty ninth wedding anniversary. His loving family was present at his bedside, during his dying journey, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

His friends and family called him Fred. He was born and raised in Nashua, NH. He served in the United States Air Force when he was a young man. He was an Air Force mechanic servicing air planes while he was in the military. After serving in the military, Fred became a hair dresser, who had beauty shops in Nashua and later in Enfield. When he was twenty-nine, he married Roberta Burghardt and moved to Merrimack, where he and his wife lived until his death.

Shortly before his marriage, he became a chemical processor at Hampshire Chemical, which was later bought out by Dow Chemical Company. He worked there until he accepted a buyout from Dow Chemical. Later, he took a job as custodian at the Hooksett School District until he retired.

He loved to ski and swim. He also liked to go boating at North River Lake. He and his wife enjoyed taking vacations in the United States and the Caribbean. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Merrimack, N.H.

He is survived by his wife Roberta Latour; three sons, Daniel, Nathan and Matthew Latour; a sister, Valerie Levesque and brother-in-law, Leonard Levesque; a brother, Martin Latour; and two nephews, Derek and Glenn Levesque.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Knights of Columbus, c/o Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, N.H. 03054.
