To anonymous: Thank you for your kindness

To the Editor:

I am sure that most, if not all of you, have heard about our unpleasant ordeal.

At 6:15 a.m., on the morning of Oct. 4, my family woke up to find our detached garage and motorhome on fire. This letter is not about that but of the kindness of others.

In these days of sad and depressing news, my heart was filled with the outpouring of kindness from this community. So many people expressed concern and offered help. Friends and acquaintances sent food and gift cards to reduce the stress of making meals. Some even ran to my house to help during the fire.

Although every kind word and act has touched us deeply, there is one that really overwhelmed my husband and me.

That day was also my parent’s anniversary, so we decided to keep our dinner reservations at Luna Caprese with our family.

We were a party of nine that loves eat. When we were finished, we were informed that a gentleman from another party had paid our bill.

We were completely shocked. That party had already left so we could not thank him/them.

So, thank you! Thank you for taking a horrible day and ending it with a smile on my family’s faces.

In these days of sad and depressing news, there are wonderful people with big, caring and giving hearts.
