Thank you from MHS Science Olympiad Booster Club champs
To The Editor:
On behalf of the MHS Science Olympiad Booster Club, we would like to thank so many who helped our students succeed and make it to the National Science Olympiad competition. This year marks the eighth state title that our Science Olympiad team has earned, and while the students have worked hard to win this distinction, it comes with support from so many people in our school and community.
A big thank you goest to our team’s coach, Mary-Alice Corliss, who is a science teacher at the high school and gives her time after school to ensure the students have leadership, resources and an encouraging space to work. Thank you to the high school administration and the Merrimack School Board who have assisted the team not only in subsidizing some of the competition expenses, but who continue to encourage and support teams that compete on an academic level.
We would also like to thank the parents of the Science Olympiad students who contribute funds and volunteer time, as our team would not have the opportunity to compete without their efforts and support.
Finally, I would like to thank the residents of Merrimack who continue to generously support our fundraisers whether they be calendar raffles, car washes, or tagging. The money raised through booster club events allow us to fund the opportunities that will hopefully inspire our students to become future leaders in the science and engineering fields.
Our next fundraiser will be a UNO’s Pizzeria Dough Raiser night on June 8, we hope you will join us. Congratulations to this year’s Science Olympiad team for competing their way to nationals and we look forward to the 2017-18 season.
