Townsend MA Concert Series

The Townsend Fire/EMS Relief Association will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band’s Thursday, June 27th, concert on the Townsend Common. Townsend Fire/EMS personnel will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, and sausages with peppers and onions to hungry concertgoers. They will also offer cold soda and bottled water for sale. Fire/EMS personnel will set up several activities on the Common that evening for the enjoyment of young people attending the concert including a bounce house and a dunk tank.

The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing “The Billboard March” by Klohr and “Highlights from Jersey Boys” arranged by Brown. Shaw’s “Begin the Beguine”, Yoder’s arrangement of “Highlights from Camelot”, and King’s “Aviation Tournament March” will be performed. “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” arranged by Bocook, “The Beatles: Love words and music” arranged by Bocook, and Hall’s “American Cadet March” will be included in the first portion of the concert.

Following intermission the “Our Director March” arranged by Hildreth and “Flourish for Wind Band” by Vaughan Williams will be offered. Holst’s “First Suite in Eb Opus 28 No.1” will be performed before the band concludes its concert at 9:30 by playing the “Star Spangled Banner”.
