My kind of neighbor – Barbara Chagnon, of Bedford
To the Editor:
Several winters ago, friends got stuck in the snow at the end of our driveway.
Three of us struggled for about 20 minutes, creating a splendidly deep rut and getting hung up on a rock. Finally, a passing stranger stopped. Her car was full of groceries and the street was treacherous, but she got out, rolled up her sleeves and the four of us got the little car out with one good push.
This spontaneous act of service is what good neighbors do for each other. Our timely Samaritan was Barbara Chagnon, and she has my thanks, my support, and my vote for town moderator.
