I am writing to express my support for the reelection of our current Congressional Representatives; U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas and U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan. Over the past years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic they have shown true leadership, the ability to work with others with differing political philosophies and have remained true to their values to deliver results for New Hampshire citizens.

They have served our state well, balancing the need for safety net programs for our citizens in need of help due to unforeseen problems, whether they be Democrats or Republicans. They have shown an ability to work with others to obtain compromises to pass legislation in a divided Congress. I certainly haven’t agreed with every compromise, but I recognize compromise is a necessity in a democracy where there are many differing opinions about what would be best for our country.

Lastly, I support them because of their unflagging efforts in support of our democracy. They have made clear the past presidential election in 2020 was not ‘stolen’ or ‘rigged’ despite many false claims and misinformation spread by others, including current candidates running for political office throughout our country and New Hampshire. Candidates who suggest without evidence elections are ‘stolen’ do not believe in our democracy or respect our voters. They should not be supported for that reason alone.

I hope you will support Chris Pappas for our Representative in District 1 and Maggie Hassan for Senator from New Hampshire on election day.
