Thank you from Boy Scout Troop 5

To the Editor:

Thank you!

On behalf of Troop 5 of the Boy Scouts of America here in Bedford, I want to say thank you to the entire Bedford community for supporting our annual yard sale at Peter Woodbury School on Saturday, April 5.

This year’s yard sale was another great success, but it couldn’t happen without the efforts and support of so many people all across our community.

First, thanks so much to everyone who donated goods to be sold at the yard sale.

Second, we want to thank Marc Fortin at Fortin Modular Storage for providing a storage trailer we used to store our donated goods prior to the yard sale, and thanks to Superintendent Tim Mayes and the staff at the Bedford SAU, especially Anne Wiggin, for allowing Troop 5 to place the trailer at the SAU building and for all of their help.

Third, thanks to Joe Gauci and his team at Gauci Landscaping for their help in moving all of the donated goods from the trailer at the SAU building to Peter Woodbury the night before the yard sale.

Joe and his team do this every year, and we couldn’t do it without them.

Fourth, thanks to the staff and janitors at Peter Woodbury School for all of their help, support and understanding.

Finally, thanks to all of the Scouts, adult leaders, parents, friends and volunteers of Troop 5 who worked tirelessly to make this year’s yard sale another great success!

Troop 5 is chartered by the Bedford Rotary Club, and we appreciate their continued support for all of our activities. We have been growing rather remarkably over the past few years while retaining our older boys in the program. We now have over 60 very active Scouts involved each week.

The yard sale helps us keep up with the needs for tents and supplies while helping the boys learn to earn their own way and providing an opportunity for everyone to come together to repurpose some gently used items.
