Schneller asks for vote for state rep

To the Editor:

I, John Schneller, am running for state representative in the town of Bedford and I am asking for your vote.

I am a conservative Republican. I received a BA in history from UMass Amherst, a Masters in Public Administration from Suffolk University in Boston and an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.

I am an entrepreneur and am presently the Chief Financial Officer of a growing health care software company. I have over two decades of experience in finance, banking, and insurance management positions.

My wife Doreen and I have been married for 10 years. We have two boys ages 7 and 9. We ski in our beautiful New Hampshire mountains, swim at the Bedford Bluffs and practice marksmanship at Bedford’s Pointer Fish and Game Club.

Regarding policies, I believe in local control of education and the rights of parents to make educational decisions for their children. Our sons are being educated in the Bedford public schools. In fact, the schools were a major reason Doreen and I chose to live and raise our family here. I am opposed to the one-size-fits-all federal standards found in Common Core. We believe that successful education is achieved at the local level by hard-working, dedicated teachers and administrators, working side-by-side with involved parents.

I can be counted on to oppose any new tax or regulation that will restrict job-producing economic growth or be an added burden on Granite State families. I look forward to lending my financial management expertise to making our business tax code more accommodating so as to retain and recruit new businesses including high-tech firms.

I am a strong proponent of preserving our environment. I grew up camping and hiking in and around the Presidential Range and I will support legislation that allows New Hampshire to maintain its beautiful, pastoral and historic surroundings that encourage tourism. In addition, I strongly support legislation that would aid NH veterans, our seniors and our most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens.

Please visit my website, www.friendsofschneller.com, for more information about my background and positions.

Thank you for your support on primary day, September 9.

John Schneller
