To the Editor:

After months of preparation, the Bedford Garden Club’s Mum Sale took place at the Bedford Farmers Market on Sept. 6. It is one of two fundraisers the club holds annually to support its educational programs (open to the public), provide for holiday wreaths at public buildings, and to maintain its community gardens located throughout Bedford. The club wishes to thank the managers of the Bedford Farmers Market for their cooperation; all the individuals who participated in the pre-order/pre-pay-sale program; all the market goers who purchased mums at the Farmers Market, and the New Hampshire grower who supplies the club with show-stopping mums every year!

Our special thanks go to Msgr. John Quinn for the use of St. Elizabeth Seton’s church driveway for the delivery spot for hundreds of mums. Thanks, everyone, for another successful fundraising effort – especially Mum Sale Chair Pauline Richard, Club President Jeanne Popielarz and all the Garden Club volunteers!
