Fashion Showcase brings in funds for Community Center project

To the Editor:

On May 24 the multi-generational efforts of a group of Bedford High School students and teachers, along with members of the Bedford Historical Society, organized and hosted an amazing show, Design Through the Decades, A Fashion Showcase to benefit the Stevens-Buswell Community Center Project. In addition to the show the students also organized a raffle and bake sale! It was an incredible job and netted over $1,000 for the Community Center project.

In addition to the Bedford High School students and staff members Amy Woods and Susann Shultz, many thanks go out to Mary Selvoski, Mary-Jo Smith and Clara Smith of Seacoast Repertory/Mary’s Closet for their time and guidance, as well as the donation of outfits and accessories for the show. Many thanks also go to Historical Society member Jane Blais for her vision and for organizing this event. In addition a very big thanks to Matthaeus Moore for his guidance with production and direction.

We are also grateful to all the local businesses that supported the show by purchasing ads for the program and/or donated items for the raffle. It is amazing and heart-warming that residents of all ages and our local businesses are working together towards opening the Stevens-Buswell Community Center!
