LACROSSE

Cannons scholarship award

The Bedford Cannons Youth Lacrosse program is looking for players to received the fourth annual BYLA Service Award Scholarship.

All high school seniors currently living in Bedford, who were players in the youth program, are encouraged to download an application at www.bedford
cannons.org. Qualifications for the award are listed in the application. All applications are due by May 1.

GYMNASTICS

Beekman does well at states

Tyler Beekman, of Bedford, finished first on the parallel bars and high bars to take second in the all-around in the Level 5, 9-10 age bracket, at the state meet.

Beekman recorded an 11.1 and a 10.7, respectively, on the bars, while also finishing second on the rings (11.1), third on both the pommel horse (10.3) and floor (9.9) and was eighth on the vault (8.7). Beekman’s total scored of 61.8 put him second in the all-around, and he helped the Gymnastics Village of Amherst finish first as a team for Level 5.

JUNIOR BULLDOGS

Coaches wanted

The Junior Bulldogs are also looking for football and cheer coaches for the 2014 season. SWIMMING

Barracudas registration and open house

The Bedford Barracudas swim team will hold registration and open house for the summer season from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on April 7 and 15 at the McKelvie Intermediate School cafeteria. Returning and new swimmers must register in person on one of the dates.

Bring completed registration forms (one registration form and conduct clause per swimmer and one volunteer form per family) and payment in cash or check made out to “BST.” The cost is $120 for each swimmer in a family.
