Earth Day is in April and Troop 465 invites you to join us in helping our earth through a special recycling effort.

We are running a shoe drive fundraiser and are asking for help from the community. The troop will be collecting new and gently worn shoes from now until June 10th, 2022. We will get paid for what we collect and plan to use the funds to offset summer camp, monthly activities, and a high adventure trip planned for summer 2023 where our scouts will learn about reef ecology and learn to be part of a sailing crew.

After the shoes are sorted and cleaned, they are wholesaled in bulk to female micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations to create businesses and jobs for people in their local communities. This helps women support their families. We are proud to also be part of this service model.

We can accept all shoes in good condition except heels, slippers, winter boots, or those with metal cleats. Shoes can be left in our donation bins at these locations:
