Democrats are proud of improvements they helped implement in the Souhegan Valley and nationally

To the Editor:

In Ms. Bury’s letter to The Cabinet, printed March 20, she reproves the Democratic-controlled Senate for spending time on climate change.

She goes on to say that they should be spending time on a list of what turns out to be Republican talking points, most of which have been thoroughly discredited.

I wonder what she thinks of the Republican-controlled House, which has promulgated 50 bills to repeal the Affordable Care Act, knowing that they would die in the Senate or be vetoed by the president. This is a good use of the representatives’ time?

By the way, we are the Democratic Party, and only Republicans who think they are demeaning us by so doing, call us the “Democrat Party.”

Members of the party are proud to be referred to as Democrats, though, and we are proud of the many improvements our elected Democratic officials have achieved for the American people over the past 80 years or so.

The latest of these is that more than five million people have signed up for affordable health care, many of whom previously had no health insurance.
