We wanted to write to publically thank the Milford Hospital Association for generously awarding us a first-time $2,500 grant to help expand our Loaner’s Closet for Durable Medical Equipment. The Milford Hospital Association supports causes that benefit the health and well-being of the residents of the three MHA communities – Milford, Amherst and Mont Vernon.

Community Caregivers of Greater Derry is now celebrating their 30th Anniversary of volunteer caregiving programming in the seven towns in the Greater Derry area but their Loaner’s Closet for Durable Medical Equipment (circa 2003) is open to the entire state and beyond, regardless of economic background. Many folks from Amherst, Milford and Mont Vernon have made the trek to Londonderry to donate or borrow new and gently used items. We own over 11,000 pieces of medical equipment that can be borrow as long as needed. In the last 12 months, we have loaned out, free-of-charge, nearly 3,000 items and given away 750 cases of consumable items (adult diapers, Ensure, Chux pads). We store small items like bath seats, commodes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, bed assist rails and rollators in our office but we can help you locate or re-home oversized items such as hospital beds, stair lifts, electric wheelchairs and reclining lift chairs.
