Incurable cancers
The cancer problem was solved in 1931 when the Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine went to German Dr. Heinrich Warburg who had established that any cancer can be defeated by adding extra oxygen to the body. The state-of-the-art treatment these days is the hyperbaric chamber, available at e.g. the South Manchester facility of the Elliot Hospital.
