Still providing quality entertainment

In a recent article announcing the opening of Zingers, in the Colonel Shephard House in Milford, your readers may have been given the impression that Nelson’s Candy and Music venue in Wilton has been closed.

Nothing could be further from the truth. We continue to offer a unique listening experience for lovers of live music. We did not close. Not even for one day.

Nelson’s Candy and Music continues to offer live music with both local performers and national acts, such as the recent performance by New York City Hall of Fame Blues artist Dave Fields. Up-and-coming performers like Josh Teed and Parietal Eye (look them up, worth the effort) also have graced our stage, and we continue to offer a place for local favorites like Otis and The Elevators, Stone Hill Station and our own house band, Sweet Tooth to entertain. I just recorded this with my phone a few nights ago in our venue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ldd5luwL4IA.

The Milford area has many, many venues to see live music and enjoy an evening of blues. Nelson’s Candy remains committed to offering quality entertainment in a unique location. We are an operating candy production facility and retail candy store with an adjoining music venue. The room is air conditioned and has comfortable seating for about 60 people. There is no television or bar, just a relaxing listening room vibe. As we are BYOB, it is an inexpensive night out for a great time.

We sincerely wish that Chad Zingales has great success with Zingers and hope that they continue to bring national and world-renowned acts to their new facility. A healthy music scene is a boost to our area small businesses, and we look forward to continuing to do our part. Please follow us on Facebook or visit our website, nelsonscandymusic.com, to see who we have lined up to play on our stage and make us a part of your entertainment calendar!
