How is having Narcan kits available in some New Hampshire schools going to help our opioid crisis?

It only invites permission to use drugs, because the users know they will be saved! Why, oh why, in the world does New Hampshire not make it mandatory to teach in our schools about addiction? Drugs and alcohol are killers.

Some states mandate that it be taught in grades 4, 5, 6 and some in 5, 6, 7 and so on. Why not New Hampshire?

Information is valuable, perhaps more valuable than learning on the news how many young people die from an overdose, because they were not educated about the consequences of addition. One is too many, and a thousand is never enough.

Addiction is a disease, plain and simple – mental, physical, spiritual. Our children and parents need to be educated about this chronic illness of addiction. What harm could it do?

It is better than thinking that Narcan can save everyone … that is only a Band-Aid (without an explanation of what it really does not do, except maybe save a life once or twice, if lucky – it does not always work).

Users become dependent on it, that’s why they don’t stop. Nothing scares them. Education is key if we want to save our young people today; as well as education in the homes they live in.

Brochures, etc. Please, please print this, it just might help save some lives … some people, young or old that care and really want to do something into the education system that might just work. Time to change, time to get serious about our education standards, not just about teaching ABC’s, but real-life happenings that can be changed here and now.
