Thank you

To the Greater Nashua Community;

It is with tremendous gratitude that I wish to thank the many volunteers who helped us provide masks to both Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, St. Joseph Hospital, and the Alternate Care Site(s).

Our volunteers came from Mt. Vernon, Brookline, Milford, Amherst, Hollis, Nashua, Hudson and Litchfield. At this most challenging time they gave their time, talents, love, care and generosity.

With the intent of being able to do something to show that they each cared about and appreciated our health care providers and wanted them to be safe.

Volunteers purchased fabric, donated fabric, pre-washed and ironed fabric, cut the pattern on the fabric, helped to deliver and pick up the mask kits, cut and sewed the masks, and laced the masks as the final step in readying the masks for their journey to our local hospitals. Others made masks with their own fabric, sewed them and then delivered them.

I wish to also express my appreciation to John Koutsos from Alec Shoes Store for his generosity in providing us laces to complete the masks. We could not have accomplished this community service without him.

A big thank you to Heather Henline, Dean Shalhoup and The Telegraph in sharing our story and need for help. The community provided us an outpouring of responses and assistance. You all helped us to make a huge difference. WE are in this together and we did it together.

A special thank you to:

• Carol Smith and Sandy Goodwin-Jette for their sewing expertise, answering of all the technical sewing questions, repairing, and sewing of masks.

• Smitty from Neveritt’s Sew and Vac who helped repair the sewing machines that just stopped working and shared via social media that we needed sewers.

• Perry Silver from the Linen and Shade Bin who responded to my request to help find sewers.

• Larry Hersh for sharing this project with his fellow Rotarians and for helping to transport the mask kits. And my dear husband, Dr. Gary Dunetz, who brought and picked up many kits and did the mask deliveries to each of the hospitals for us.

Because of the following Team of COVID-19 Community Angel Mask Project Volunteers, we were able to donate to SNHMC and St. Joseph Hospital 1500 + masks each for a total of over 3,000 masks to assist their hospital staffs as well as the Alternate Care Site(s). In addition, we donated 53 masks to The Front Door Agency and 50 masks to the United Way of Greater Nashua.

Thank You Community Angels!
