Biden and universal health care

I have cancer. For insurance purposes, it is a pre-existing condition. Under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) I cannot be denied insurance because of my cancer. The Republicans in the Senate have tried to repeal the ACA, and Republican State Attorneys General have challenged its constitutionality with the President’s approval. The case is about to be considered by the Supreme Court.

My condition is chronic, and I receive medicine for it every month. If I lose my insurance for this pre-existing condition, I will have to pay $19,000 per month for the treatment. That’s $228,000 per year, way above my total income. According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a federal agency, “Pre- Existing Conditions Could Affect 1 in 2 Americans.” For this and other reasons, I will vote for Joe Biden and all the Democrats down the line, who support universal health care.
