Dismantling of democracy
What is the matter with America (or half of America)? It is profoundly troubling to see that there is no bottom to the awfulness of the Republican Party. As the party embraces fascism (yes, fascism) and its elected membership sinks further into a Trumpian web of lies, delusion, hatred, and corruption, the American people (or half of them) do not seem to care. A nation gets the government it deserves. But what about the rest of us, Democrats and Independents who still expect decency, honesty, character, and competence in our public officials? Why should we have to witness the dismantling of our constitutional democracy?
