Understanding and recognizing lies

When one is trying to disprove something, it is always a good thing to understand the issue before trying to refute it.

In her response to me, Ann Somers of Brookline (Telegraph Sunday, Oct 9), made several errors in her opinions and either did not understand my point, or she chose to ignore it. My point was – and is – that pro-life people, be they Democrats, Republicans, or Independents, are NOT taking away women’s freedoms in the abortion issue.

Before I begin, I think it’s important to say there was no need for Ms. Somers’ offensive comment about me “not liking abortion in my neighborhood.” It is one thing to disagree on something, but childish statements like that shows a lack of common decency.

Ann wonders what will happen to the women and the babies who are “saved.” There is more support out there than you know. It is available to girls and women from all walks of life and is just a phone call away. There are many organizations around the state and the country who offer help. Like Birthright of Derry. They offer medical support, financial resources, housing and legal assistance. They also offer information on childbirth, adoption, and other community programs. They serve all Southern New Hampshire cities and towns.

Even Planned Parenthood offers the same services. Plus, every organization offers Options Counseling.

Whether you choose to understand it or not, girls and women DO have alternatives and choices. And, if they feel like they must rid their babies from their wombs, they still do have their freedom to do so. Even if they have to be inconvenienced by going out of their way to get it done. It’s just too bad the babies lose their freedom in the process.

On another note. To my three musketeer friends, Jean Lewandowski, Ray Guarino, and Joe O’Neill, (Sunday, Oct 9): I know it is hard for you right now to try to make your own positive collective points for your party whilst dealing with so many negative problems facing our state and country. But try to keep to the facts and don’t perpetuate the lies you are being fed by the media.

Jean, Gen. Bolduc does not want to dismantle Social Security and Medicare. This is not only a proven lie, but it is a ludicrous lie. It was, as usual, taken out of context to fit the narrative.

Ray, you talk about “Republican lies about inflation.” Huh? Inflation is all around us. It is at the gas pumps; at food prices; at energy prices. The current Inflation rate is a whopping 8.3%, the highest in 40 years. You can’t hide from the inflation problems that exist due ONLY to Biden Administration policies.

Joe, your “array of outlet independent fact-checkers” (FactCheck.org et al) are not exactly non-partisan and have been exposed numerous times for their manipulation and misinformation of the facts. And, for your information, it is Rupert Murdoch, not Robert Murdock, of News Corp. Rupert started FOX but stepped down so his son James Murdoch could take over. James is a Democrat who recently hosted a large fundraiser at his home for big donor Democrats. There was reportedly zero Republicans in attendance. Only big-money Democrat donors.

It is rather inconvenient to let facts get in the way of the lies.
