MANCHESTER – For six decades, the annual NH Antiques Show has upheld the tradition of bringing fine quality antiques to New England. The NH Antiques Dealers Association date for the 60th annual New Hampshire Antiques Show is through Aug. 12 at the Radisson Hotel Manchester. This years’ show will feature 67 of the finest exhibitors from all over the country with a wide range of fresh-to-market items that include folk art to fine porcelain, country and formal furniture, paintings and prints, glassware, metalware, pottery and so much more. The show attracts thousands of buyers and enthusiasts from all over the country in search of high-quality antiques that all levels of collectors can appreciate.

The New Hampshire Antiques Show closes a week of antique shows known as Antiques Week in New Hampshire and is a well-known tourism draw for the state, attracting dealers and collectors from all around the country with the goal of hoping to find that perfect piece of Americana. For 60 years, this annual event brings together highly reputable dealers who, have a keen interest in educating visitors about antiques, save their most prized wares for this event. These dealers know just what buyers are looking for and they save these treasures for this event. This is a year-long effort that begins just days after the show as they shop and search for this event, all throughout the year. They continually restock their booth throughout the weekend, so you will want to take advantage of the free return visit with initial admission and plan to visit your favorite exhibitors every day. Exhibitors offer a wide range of country and formal antique furniture and accessories including clocks, folk art, paintings and prints, textiles, woodenware, nautical and scientific items, metalware, glassware, pottery and ceramics, early lighting, samplers, Shaker furniture and accessories, decoys, architectural and garden ornaments.

We are pleased to announce four new exhibitors that will be joining the show this year, Pat and Rich Garthoeffner of Lititz, Pa.; Christopher and Bernadette Evans Antiques of Waynesboro, Va.; Old as Adam of Portsmouth and Tucker Frey of Woodbury, Conn. The Garthoeffners search for exceptional one-of-a-kind antiques with original paint, including weathervanes, folk art, textiles, decorative arts as well as early children’s play things. Through the years, the Garthoeffners have exhibited at some of the finest antique shows in the country and are thrilled to add the NH Antiques Show to their list. The Evans’ have both grown up in families in the antiques business. Christopher’s grandparents owned an antique shop near Bethany Beach, while Bernadette’s mother was an antique dealer for nearly 50 years in the Long Island area. The Evans’ tend to pick merchandise without a regional prejudice and buy things that they find beautiful.

“We like to surround ourselves with things that make us smile, and we think other collectors feel the same way,” said Bernadette.

Adam Irish opened his store, Old as Adam in Portsmouth, in 2012. He describes his taste as eclectic, but he deals in Americana, including folk art, signs, architectural items, toys, textiles and he specializes in vintage menswear from 1760-1960. Tucker Frey opened his shop in Woodbury, Conn., in 1988. His specialty is in fine objects created during the late 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries, the stylistic periods of William and Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale and Federal. Other collection includes furniture, paintings, folk art and accessories.

“These four exhibitors all have a great passion and love of antiques and will be great new additions to the show,” said Tommy Thompson, president of the NH Antiques Dealers Association. “Collectors better be ready to shop because these dealers are pulling out all the stops for the 60th year. They have been hard at work all year long to find that perfect, one-of-a-kind treasure.”

Show hours are: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10 on Friday and Saturday. Visitors under 30 (with proper ID) are admitted free and as always, there are free return visits to the show after initial admission. For more information, visit www.nhada.org.
